Advantages of direct drive motors

2024-11-08

      Direct-drive motor, short for direct-drive motor. It means that when the motor drives the load, it does not need to go through the transmission device, such as transmission belt, speed reducer and so on.

      For equipment that uses direct drive, it has the following advantages:

      First, direct-drive motors do not need to transmit power through the transmission device, reducing the transmission loss caused by the transmission device, improving the energy utilization rate, and the system energy saving effect is better;

      Secondly, due to the absence of transmission devices, direct-drive motors rotate with higher precision and stability, and are suitable for equipment with higher requirements on position and speed;

      Third, in comparison, direct-drive motors have a simple structure, which reduces the probability of mechanical failure and also facilitates maintenance;

       Fourth, because direct-drive motors do not require a transmission device, they can respond directly to the drive signal, with a fast response speed for speed adjustment and more direct equipment operation. In the process of energy-saving transformation of the equipment system, the overall energy-saving effect is very considerable through the adjustment of the drive mode.

       Relative to other drive methods, the direct drive method of transmission, the rotational speed of the equipment is the same as the motor, and the torque transmitted to the equipment does not change. For motors of the same power, when driven through a deceleration device, the transmission speed decreases but the torque increases, while for motors with acceleration devices, the achieved speed increases but the torque decreases.
